We are delighted to welcome Prof. Manuel Aranda a new KEEP member.

Manuel started his career in Evolutionary Developmental Biology of insects, acquiring a strong background in functional genetics. He then switched to Marine Science and joined the KAUST Red Sea Research Center where he leads the “Coral Symbiomics lab”. His very original approach combines genetics with the investigation of epigenetic mechanisms regulating coral reef adaptation to climate change. Further he studies the molecular underpinnings of the cnidarian-algal symbiosis and its environmental stress related breakdown using functional genomics and genetics approaches.
